Noyes First Steps A Prenatal Care Support Program
What is Noyes First Steps? Noyes First Steps is a prenatal support program that primarily serves Medicaid eligible pregnant women. The goal of this program is to provide services that insure women have medical insurance for prenatal care services and access to proper medical care during their pregnancy and following the birth of their baby. Noyes First Steps provides health support services the MOMS program - the Medicaid Obstetrical and Maternal Services. This expanded Medicaid programs offers prenatal health care, education, and support services during your pregnancy.
After your enrollment interview, if you are eligible, expanded Medicaid will pay for hospital inpatient care and medical care for up to 60 days after the month of birth.
You could be eligible for medical coverage the day you apply, and your baby could be eligible for medical coverage until he or she is one year old.
Do You Have Questions About Pregnancy? The staff at Noyes First Steps will make you feel comfortable with their knowledge about pregnancy and your special needs. The support and information the program offers will help you gain the knowledge and confidence needed to have a healthy pregnancy.
Noyes First Steps Offers the Following Assistance:
- Obtaining Medical Services and/or Insurance for Yourself and Your Baby.
- Enrollment in MOMS Programs.
- Prenatal Health Education: Nutrition, Exercise, Dangers of Nicotine, Alcohol and Drug Use, Labor and Delivery, Signs of Premature Labor, and Birth Control Options.
- Confidential HIV Counseling.
- Free Classes: Childbirth and Infant Feeding.
- Car Seat Safety Program.
- Referrals to Other Services and Agencies as Needed.
- Advocacy with DDS and Other Systems.
- Assistance/Information on Transportation, Housing, and Other Issues.
- Assistance with Paternity and Custody Issues.
- Connections With Physicians as Needed.
- Educational Needs: Staying in School and/or Information on Your GED.
- Individual and Family Concerns.
- Information on Child Development.
The Physician's Office Will Provide:
- Pregnancy Testing.
- Prenatal Office Visits, Laboratory Tests, and Prenatal Vitamins.

Please Bring the Following Information With You to Your Enrollment Interview:
- Original birth certificate.
- A statement from your doctor verifying pregnancy and expected date of birth.
- Any unpaid medical bills from the past 3 months.
- Health insurance card or Medicaid card, if you have one.
- Proof of age if under 21.
- Proof of all income, four consecutive weeks of recent paycheck stubs.
- Proof of residency, such as a rent reciept, driver's license, letter from your landlord, or utility bill in your name.
- Social Security numbers for children applying for Medicaid and birth certificates.
