Noyes Graduates Six Phlebotomists

Noyes Memorial Hospital’s Phlebotomy Training Program was started over eight years ago and initially funded by a Workforce Training Grant.  It has been a very successful program graduating close to 100 students over the years and is one of only eight hospital based accredited programs in the United States.  The program recently received a full four year accreditation from the National Accrediting Agency for Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS), which is the maximum based on the quality of the educational program.

This 10-week training program is held twice/year at Noyes Memorial Hospital and graduated six excellent students on April 12th.  The program includes 100 hours of lecture and 256 hours of clinical experience.  Potential students must complete an application and interview before being accepted into the program.  The program tuition is $550. Once a student graduates, job opportunities exist in many health care settings, including hospitals, the Red Cross, and clinics.  The next class will start in the fall of 2010.

If you would like more information, contact Nancy Johnsen at (585) 335-4355 or see Phlebotomy Training Program under Community Services on the hospital website at www.noyes-health.org to learn more or download an application.Phlebotomists
